STATEMENT REGARDING COVID-19

First, we want to let you know we are still open. I know that during these hard times, it is getting even harder to find help for addiction, with meetings going online and in-person community getting put on hold. We want you to know we are here for you if you’re looking for in-person recovery treatment.

At Praxis by Landmark Recovery, we take our patient’s well-being seriously. During treatment for addiction, if a patient experiences a physical ailment or co-occurring disorder that is beyond our expertise, we transport them to a higher level of care and COVID-19 (coronavirus) will be handled the same. We pride ourselves on working closely with the joint commission and other regulating bodies so that our facilities are run on the highest of standards which include infectious disease protocols, sanitation standards and regular employee training. We will continue to run our facilities in Oklahoma, Indiana and Kentucky based on these strict standards of operation.

In response to COVID-19, we have made some additional changes at our facilities including:

• Stopping all visitation from family or visitors outside of staff members. We will be increasing phone calls for patients so they can stay in touch with family members.
• Updating current health policies and training procedures to make sure our staff are prepared for both flu season and COVID-19.
• Following state and CDC recommendations regarding who should be tested and when an individual should be sent to the hospital.
• Increasing the cleaning capabilities of our facilities to keep to stringent sanitation standards. As well as training staff and patients on proper hand washing and hygiene in regards to virus prevention.
• Requiring any staff members who are experiencing symptoms, have any contact with a COVID-19 patient or have travel history in the areas of concern to stay self-quarantined for 14 days.
• Mandatory screening for anyone entering the facility, including employees, by one of our registered nurses.
• Continuing direct communication with the Kentucky’s department of health.
• Screening of any new patients or visitors for:
• Personal travel history and potential exposure to areas of concern(currently China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, Japan, and Hong Kong).
• Potential contact with someone who has traveled to these areas of concern.
• Any direct contact by the patient with persons diagnosed with COVD-19.

It is a top priority for our team to stay informed and flexible as this situation evolves. As of right now, we do not have any patients with COVID-19 and we believe based on the current information being shared by the CDC and WHO, our patients are still at a low risk for this virus. Addiction is a disease that does not wait or stop and therefore we will continue to provide life-saving treatment to those in need, responsibly and with sensitivity to the developing current events.
